crystal“I thought that was by far the best performance and the song of the night.  Since this is going to be the final critique I'm ever going to give, I would just like to say that was, outstanding,",were the words of hyper-critical Simon Cowell in his capacity as judge of the 9th season of the popular show, American Idol.  He was referring to the performance of Crystal Bowersox, whose acoustic version of “Up the Mountain” produced goose bumps and tears not just among the mesmerized audience in Nokia Theatre, but also viewers worldwide, including myself.
Judge Randy Jackson characterised it as "an amazing song by an amazing singer",
